Job Summary
Grit Drywall LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial/Multifamily Drywall Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction management and project management, with a focus on construction estimating and cost control. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate pricing for projects, enabling us to build quality structures while maintaining profitability. The Estimator will work closely with management and clients to develop comprehensive estimates that reflect the scope of work required.
Duties
- Analyze blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work and materials required.
- Utilize on-screen take-off estimating software; PlanSwift preferred.
- Prepare detailed estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and overhead costs.
- Collaborate with management to ensure estimates align with project goals and timelines.
- Maintain cost control measures throughout the estimating process to ensure profitability.
- Review contracts and negotiate terms with subcontractors and suppliers as needed.
- Provide ongoing support during the bidding process, addressing any questions or concerns from clients.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field. Drywall preferred.
- Proficient in navigating estimating software for bid preparation, PlanSwift preferred.
- Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids based on project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate pricing assessments.
- Maintain detailed electronic records of estimates, bids, contracts, and other relevant documents.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
- A self-motivated, teachable, and coachable mindset with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with construction site operations and project management practices.
- Analyze project requirements and identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality standards.
- Proficient with Google Workspace including Google Sheets.
- A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
