Position Overview:

As the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, you will be a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the financial planning & analysis function. You will play a key role in driving financial insights, budgeting, forecasting, procurement, and supporting executive decision-making. This position presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to our company's success and shape our financial strategies for the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead the development of comprehensive budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans that drive operational excellence, support board-level decisions, optimize capital resource allocation, and shape company-wide policies.
  • Cross-Functional Budget Management: Partner with all departments to create, review, and approve variable monthly budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and fostering a collaborative, “one team” approach across the organization.
  • Collaboration with Leadership Teams: Work closely with executive leadership and finance team counterparts (including Accounting and Payroll) to align financial objectives with overall business goals and ensure seamless cross-functional collaboration.
  • Data-Driven Decision Support: Deliver strategic financial insights and analysis, leveraging advanced financial models, scenario planning, and performance metrics to identify growth opportunities, mitigate risks, and guide strategic initiatives.
  • Financial Reporting & Communication: Prepare and present clear, actionable financial reports to the executive team, highlighting key metrics, trends, and areas for improvement to inform high-impact decision-making.
  • Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Continuously monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, proactively identifying opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and enhanced financial outcomes.
  • Market and Economic Analysis: Conduct in-depth analyses of business trends, market dynamics, and economic factors to assess their impact on company performance and inform strategic planning.
  • Compliance and Accuracy: Ensure all financial reporting adheres to regulatory requirements and accounting standards, maintaining the highest levels of accuracy and transparency.
  • Process Improvement & Innovation: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing best practices, streamlining processes, and adopting innovative tools and technologies to enhance financial operations.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay abreast of industry trends, economic developments, and regulatory changes, ensuring the company remains competitive and compliant in a dynamic market environment.

Qualifications:

  • Education: bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA or Master’s in Finance) or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) are a plus.
  • Experience: years of experience in financial planning & analysis; leadership roles are a plus. Experience in high-growth or dynamic environments is strongly preferred.
  • Technical Expertise: proficient in financial modeling, data analysis, and data visualization, with a track record of translating complex financial data into actionable strategies. Advanced knowledge of tools like Excel / Sheets, PowerPoint Slides, and other data analysis and presentation tools are required.
  • Communication & Collaboration: exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders. Proven ability to foster collaboration across cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership & Ownership: demonstrated leadership capabilities, including experience managing and mentoring teams, driving a collaborative and results-oriented culture. A proactive, ownership-driven approach to identifying and solving challenges, with accountability for execution from start to finish.
  • Strategic Thinking: strong strategic mindset with a focus on aligning financial initiatives to overarching business objectives. Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a long-term perspective.
  • Industry Knowledge: familiarity with the door-to-door sales and pest control industries is a plus but not required. Understanding industry-specific revenue models and operational dynamics is beneficial.
  • Adaptability & Innovation: ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and systems. Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to innovate.
