Technical Account Manager – Greater Seattle Area

GritHR Solutions is working with a client in the Optical Metrology Industry to find a Technical Account Manager (TAM) for their Pacific office in Downtown Seattle, WA. This company is the exclusive U.S. supplier of an advanced three-dimensional deformation and strain measurement system and supports industries such as Aerospace, Automotive, Microelectronics, DOD, Industrial, and Biomechanics. Their clients include leading organizations like Boeing, Ford, GE, NASA, Microsoft, Amazon, Tesla, and Toyota.

About the Role

The Technical Account Manager (TAM) serves as the primary resource and trusted business advisor for customers, actively managing new business opportunities while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This role requires a strong technical understanding, sales expertise, and the ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships.

The newly-hired TAM will have an accelerated growth path to full autonomy within 6-8 months. Compensation includes a base salary plus commission and potential bonuses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a sales territory covering Seattle, the Bay Area, the Pacific Northwest, and the Mountain States.
  • Present and demonstrate 3D Testing solutions to diverse industries including automotive, aerospace, medical, and power generation.
  • Identify customer needs and growth opportunities, designing tailored proposals.
  • Drive sales through structured outreach, from initial contact to closing deals.
  • Work alongside technical teams to present customized solutions.
  • Provide accurate forecasting and maintain detailed records in the company database.
  • Travel up to 40% within North America for client meetings and technical demonstrations, increasing as the TAM gains autonomy.
  • Support existing accounts to ensure high customer satisfaction and explore additional opportunities.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • BA/BS in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • Understanding of mechanical engineering concepts
  • Outbound sales experience
  • Strong presentation, communication, and organizational skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 60%

Preferred:

  • 1-3 years of experience in technical sales or engineering
  • Knowledge or passion for:
    • Mechanical/structural testing
    • Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
    • Automotive/aerospace testing
    • Prototyping & 3D printing
    • Photography or metrology
  • Experience in capital equipment or CAD/CAM sales
  • Strong closing and executive-level communication skills
