Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Surgical Patient Navigator to join our team. In this vital role, you will coordinate and guide patients through the surgical experience, ensuring clear communication, timely support, and a seamless care journey. You’ll serve as a key liaison between patients, families, medical staff, and external healthcare providers. This position demands a high level of empathy, organizational skill, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced healthcare environment. A thorough understanding of medical terminology and at least 2 years of healthcare experience are required.
Key Responsibilities

Support patients and families through the surgical process with clear, compassionate communication.

Perform registration functions for inpatient, outpatient, and contract services.

Greet and assist patients and visitors both in-person and by phone.

Help patients with transportation needs or notify family members as necessary.

Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.

Assist with insurance and billing questions.

Act as a liaison between patients and departments, ensuring accurate and timely information sharing.

Participate in emergency procedures and support care teams as needed.
Qualifications
Required:

Minimum of 2 years of healthcare or medical office experience, including customer service.

Strong understanding of medical terminology.

Proficiency in practice management systems and multiple EMRs.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to adapt to changing priorities and remain calm under pressure.
