Job Summary
The Mine Supervisor will coordinate and lead the team of mechanics, welders and electricians on site using the appropriate situational leadership (YLC), ensuring that the preventive, corrective and autonomous maintenance program is effective. Responsible for the health and safety of the maintenance team in the workplace and act as an agent to reinforce these values. Responsible for promoting a culture of collaboration, respect, continuous improvement and I3. Meets the needs of internal and external customers by staying within maintenance budgets and promoting cost reduction. Informs the maintenance leader of the progress of the maintenance files.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensures responsibility for the repair of equipment and the implementation of the maintenance program.

  • Ensure the efficient repair of equipment. Organize and prioritize maintenance work efficiently.
  • Ensure the execution of preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance.
  • Ensure the availability of equipment for maintenance activities as well as the availability of parts.
  • Ensure maintenance performance monitoring.
  • Manage maintenance activities according to the schedule provided. Ensure work orders are completed efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Manage the implementation of I3 tools and ensure their maintenance.
Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with related departments and their supervisor.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities between maintenance personnel and different departments. Ensure that maintenance activities are effective.
  • Ensure the implementation and monitoring of the maintenance carried out by the operators of fixed and mobile equipment.
  • Work closely with the maintenance planner and production supervisors.
  • Attend and participate in assigned committees.
  • Inform the maintenance leader and relevant departments of the follow-up of work in progress and significant issues.
Ensures effective supervision of staff and ensures optimal performance.
  • Provide leadership to maintenance team personnel using the YLC. Communicate objectives for each mechanic position and follow up at regular meetings.
  • Ensure that staff work according to established operating standards.
  • Maintain and monitor the performance indicators displayed on the floor daily in order to ensure the smooth running of the maintenance department's operations.
  • Develop staff schedules and track vacations, leaves and absences.
  • Manage staff in a climate of collaboration, compliance with occupational health and safety rules, compliance with the collective agreement in force and compliance with the organization's policies.
Assumes responsibility for related functions as required.
  • Attend training sessions to update technical knowledge as required.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
  • Perform all other related tasks.
Qualifications
  • College diploma in mechanical engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
Experience
  • Minimum of five years experience supervising maintenance activities.
  • Good knowledge of heavy and industrial machinery.
  • Management and supervision of staff.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Results-oriented.
  • Capacity for cooperation.
  • Computer skills.
