God Restoring Order (GRO) Community is a mental healthcare provider that specializes in trauma recovery services for males of color ages 5 and up. GRO services are grounded in an understanding of the neurological, biological and psychological effects of trauma. GRO services include mental health and wellness, stress management, and community outreach.
Position Summary:

Through our housing program, we offer not only a roof over their heads but a compassionate, empowering environment that promotes healing, growth, and successful reintegration. We are looking for a dedicated Property Manager to help create a supportive and secure home for our tenants, many of whom are navigating the complex challenges of rebuilding their lives.
The Property Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations and management of the organization’s housing facilities. This role ensures the properties are well-maintained, safe, and conducive to the mental and emotional well-being of residents. The Property Manager will collaborate with tenants, housing program staff, and organization leadership team to create a supportive and trauma-informed living environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Property Management:
- Oversee the general maintenance and upkeep of housing units at all GRO Community housing locations, ensuring all properties are in safe, habitable condition.
- Develop, implement and manage maintenance request workflow and system.
- Coordinate regular repairs, routine maintenance, and inspections to address issues promptly and prevent larger problems.
- Manage tenant move-ins and move-outs, conducting property inspections before and after tenancy.
- Maintain accurate records of property-related activities, including rent collection, tenant agreements, and maintenance logs.
- Tenant Support:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for tenants, addressing housing unit concerns, offering assistance, and providing support as needed.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with tenants, offering empathy and understanding as they navigate their reentry into society.
- Collaborate with case managers, housing program staff, and therapeutic professionals to connect tenants with resources such as job training, counseling, and other available assistance.
- Ensure tenants feel supported and encouraged by creating an environment of respect and stability.
- Community Building & Engagement:
- Foster a sense of community within the housing program by organizing activities and supporting tenants in building peer relationships.
- Create a trauma-informed, welcoming atmosphere that encourages tenants to take ownership of their space and future.
- Actively participate in team meetings, sharing insights and suggestions to improve tenant engagement and housing stability.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all housing policies and procedures are followed in accordance with legal requirements and organizational guidelines.
- Maintain up-to-date records of tenant leases, payments, and any incidents or communications.
- Collaborate with leadership and program staff to ensure compliance with housing regulations, including eviction prevention strategies and fair housing laws.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, psychology, criminal justice, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Previous experience in property management, especially in a social service or non-profit setting, is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with the challenges faced by individuals re-entering society after incarceration, and a commitment to supporting their reintegration process.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work compassionately and effectively with diverse populations.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive situations with tact and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
