Responsibilities:
Field Work-
- Operate automatic and stick shift vehicles, such as dump trucks and truck and trailer combinations. Responsible for driving crew to jobsites.
- Operate hand, electric and gas-powered landscape equipment.
- Perform digging for grading, trenching and plant installation.
- Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes.
- Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, or trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.
- Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters or other grounds features.
- Care for natural turf fields, making sure the underlying soil has the required composition to allow proper drainage and to support the grasses used on the fields.
- Trim or pick flowers and clean flower beds.
- Plan or cultivate lawns or gardens.
- Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws.
- Gather and remove litter.
- Move soil, rocks and debris.
- Work with Technicians in the de-icing and removal of snow and ice from walks, driveways and parking lots for various residential and commercial properties.
- Install, maintain, and repair complex irrigation systems:
1. Understand basic pipe sizing and irrigation design.
2. Install controller that operates irrigation systems.
3. Inspect properties and generate reports to ensure the proper service.
4. Troubleshoot and repair commercial / residential irrigation systems.
5. Make necessary repairs and adjustments to maintain all systems in proper working condition.
- Conduct loading, unloading and carrying of materials.
- Assist in interacting with clients by way of answering questions, responding to client requests and making reasonable changes to the plan.
- Ensure that job is completed in the most time-efficient manner.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including work site and equipment.
- Supervise layout and installation per customer proposals and plans
- Maintain or repair tools, equipment, or structures, such as buildings, greenhouses, fences, or benches, using hand or power tools.
