Key service areas include Engineering Design and Documentation; Software Development and Testing; System Integration, Testing and Evaluation; Lab Management and Field Installation; Integrated Logistics Support, Training Development and Delivery, Multimedia Support, and Technical System Support.
System Services Engineer Job Description:
Perform electrical and system engineering tasks for present and future US Navy submarine imaging periscope systems to include researching, developing, designing, and testing electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Develops designs for electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic use. Performs trade studies, design, and technology assessments for emerging technologies. Success in this position requires an assertive, confident attitude and a commitment to working as a part of a team to meet critical delivery schedules.
System Services Engineer Required Skills:
Development, integration, troubleshooting experience with the Linux/Unix Operating System.
Experience in software development, integration, troubleshooting using C or C or Java or Python.
Experience with network programming, TCP/IP or UDP/IP, etc.
Experience developing scripts using Bash or Python.
Experience with software configuration technologies, such as YAML, XML, JSON.
System Services Engineer Desired Skills:
Basic understanding of Agile Full software life-cycle development.
Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) concepts and technologies
Desire to integrate, test and troubleshoot and refactor software systems.
Experience with software build tools, such as Jinkins, Gitlab, etc.
Experience with React.js and JavaScript.
System Engineer Additional Requirements:
BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent STEM field and at least 2 year of related experience.
Proactive/self-starter. Task driven with ability to work independently.
Team player that takes ownership and develops relationships with the team members which fosters team success.
