About the Role
Groome Industrial Service Group seeks a skilled Mechanic to perform routine maintenance and repairs on mobile equipment, ensuring top condition and minimizing downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on trucks, forklifts, and heavy machinery, including oil changes, fluid checks, and general inspections.
- Diagnose and repair minor mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Keep Operations Supervisor informed on equipment condition.
- Conduct safety checks and inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
- Assist with managing inventory and ordering parts needed for repairs.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
- Ensure all work complies with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
- Proven experience with mobile equipment or heavy machinery.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and using diagnostic tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
