Role and Responsibilities
Assist the Operations Manager in overseeing the operation, growth, and development of the campus shuttle services
- Supervise team making sure all employees are cross trained
- Assist Operations Manager with Driver schedule
- Notify manager of any upcoming driver / supervisor days off requests or vacation requests
- Monitor the charter bookings and assign drivers as needed
- Notify Operations manager of any missed service and the reason
- Attend customer meetings as required
- Train staff to keep up with labor demands of the campus service After hours on call as scheduled
- Additional on call required during inclement weather
- After hours on call includes office coverage if an employee calls out and no one else is available to work
- After hours driver emergencies to include roadside emergencies, driver call out and accidents
- Ensure that all drivers meet or exceed the company standard for customer service and safety Notify Operations Manager of any unsafe acts by drivers
- Correct driver immediately
Notify Operations Manager of any accidents or incidents- Follow protocol for dealing with accident or incident
- Assist with Driver logs monitor hours to make sure drivers remain in compliance and that logs are completed as needed
- Ability to operate ADA equipment, lifts and wheelchair securement
- Train drivers as needed/requested Complete required number of driver observations
- Correct drivers as needed if immediate action is warranted
- Notify manager of any deficiencies
- Ensure all vehicles are out on route on time per the required schedule
- Monitor routes for headways and bunching, correct as needed
- Coordinate lunch and rest room breaks so as to not disrupt customer service
- Monitor radio chatter to ensure drivers are complying with rules
- Fill in as driver if needed to mitigate lost service
- Other duties as required
Job Requirements:
Job Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class B CDL with air brakes and passenger endorsements
- At least one-year experience supervising drivers
- Software experience, including Microsoft Office and other Internet applications
- Prior experience working with a transportation system, preferably in a campus transportation setting with routes
- Working experience and clear understanding of DOT regulations Satisfactory completion of each of the following:
- Background investigation
- Drug test
- DOT physical and agilities test (drivers only)
- Motor Vehicle Report (drivers only)
