Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, perform various administrative tasks, and ensure excellent patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures
- Prepare patients for dental work by taking vital signs and reviewing medical history
- Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures
- Maintain proper patient records and documentation using OpenDental software
- Perform X-Rays and process dental images
- Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Handling medical coding
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry to support child patients effectively
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or relevant certification
- Proficiency in using OpenDental software for patient management
- Strong understanding of dental assisting procedures and aseptic techniques
- Familiarity with medical coding practices in a dental setting
- Ability to take accurate X-Rays and maintain digital records
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and staff
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dental procedures
- Experience or training in pediatric dentistry is a plus
