The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience as a legal assistant, preferably in a personal injury law firm. This role involves providing administrative and clerical support to attorneys and paralegals to ensure the efficient operation of the office and smooth case management.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings.
- Schedule and coordinate client appointments, depositions, mediations, and court hearings.
- File legal documents with courts, ensuring compliance with filing deadlines and procedures.
- Maintain and organize case files, both physical and electronic, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Manage attorney's calendars and monitor case deadlines.
- Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progress.
- Assist in tracking case-related expenses.
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence, ensuring prompt and professional responses.
- Transcribe dictations and draft routine correspondence.
- Support attorneys and paralegals with administrative tasks as needed.
