What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electronic Assembler position at Gross Mechanical Labs?
Groco E-Lab Job Description:
Maintain daily product production work order requests in a timely manner. This includes all electronic needs to service and build current product line as well as customer repairs. These tasks will include troubleshooting electronically components, soldering large and small electronic devices to PC boards, custom wire soldering and connector applications where needed. Some products will require interaction with other departments within the facility to complete final assembly and testing for proper operation.
Must be able to follow and assemble current product line using the provided build manuals with both written instruction, photos of the assembly process, and line drawings. Needs to have the ability to read basic electronic schematics and be able to understand the overall design process of products to complete final assembly. Testing of all completed products needs to be performed to ensure items are ready to be sold and meet specific performance criteria.
Other tasks that will be required:
- Basic tool skills (hammer, screw drivers, allen wrenches, ect.)
- Small electrical component painting (paint booth, spray can, spray gun)
- Chemical coating of PC boards and other smaller products (spray can)
- The use of small power tools (Dremel, hand drill)
- Larger work bench tools experience preferred (bench grinder, drill press, band saw)
- Various hot glue gun, heat gun, and electric wire stripper processes.
- Other department oriented tasks as assigned.
E-Lab Job Requirements:
- Soldering skills, mostly small electrical component replacement with circuit board applications.
- Experience with heat shrink tubing, tinning and soldering wires, adding small electronic components to PCB, and hand crimping connectors.
- Basic electronics knowledge. For example: resistors, diodes, fuses, transistors, relays, and capacitors.
- Must know how to use a Volt Ohm Meter and have experience with both AC (115V, 230V) and DC (12V, 24V, 32V) powered components.
- Background in mechanical applications with good hand skills preferred.
- Must be able to follow build instruction sheets to complete product assemblies.
- Must have good eyesight for this position and be able distinguish between various colors without issue.
- Must be able to lift 25lbs.
- Self motivated and have the ability to work with and/or supervise others.
- Troubleshooting skills for product repair needs or product development if applicable.
Work Environment:
- Climate controlled work space.
- 40 hour work week, no weekends.
- Tools needed to complete the job are supplied.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
