- Three two-week standalone sessions for rising K-4th grade students, running Monday-Thursday; students present from 9-11am
- Session 1: June 23 - July 3
- Session 2: July 7-17
- Session 3: July 21-31
- Staff can work one, two, or all three sessions
- Staff will be paid an additional hour per day of planning
- Staff will be expected to implement Really Great Reading curricula as well as numeracy instruction
- Three two-week standalone sessions for rising 5th-9th grade students, running Monday-Thursday; Students present from 8:30-11:30am
- Session 1: June 23 - July 3
- Session 2: July 7-17
- Session 3: July 21-31
- Staff can work one, two, or all three sessions
- Staff will be paid an additional hour per day of planning
- Course offerings in literacy and numeracy (e.g., Stepping up to 6-7th math / ELA) for students with learning loss
- Staff expected to implement existing curricula as well as content-specific programming such as Lexia, Khan Academy, etc.
- Curriculum/framework exists for ELA/math courses at the 5-9 level.
- Credit recovery through Michigan Virtual
- Staff serving as mentors; monitor students' progress 4 days / week.
- Both remote and in-person mentor positions are available. Remote mentors will work 2 hours / day, and in-person mentors will work 4 hours / day
- Staff members must be certified teachers; preference given to content area certification
- Mentor attendance is required at the two in-person student/parent orientations: Wednesday, June 18 at 10am or Tuesday, June 24 at 7pm
- Staff can opt for full program duration or split assignment; preference given to staff members with the most availability
- Summer School pay rate: $28.79 per hour for all bargaining unit members, per Article XIV, 359 of the GPEA Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Bargaining unit members will be paid $28.79 per hour for attending training sessions or Michigan Virtual student orientation if outside the regular scheduled work day
- Total positions determined based on interest and enrollment.
- The successful candidate must meet the State standard for a clear criminal history and provide mandated fingerprint clearance.
