Position Summary: The position is responsible for daily operations at the Harborside Grill, with a high level of professionalism and hospitality. The Harborside Grill provides premium poolside service for members and their guests, adhering to the Club's service standards. Applicants must be available to work nights and weekends. Work will generally be performed in both indoor and outdoor environments during the summer months, with exposure to varying weather conditions. The staff is expected to have an excellent understanding of outdoor, tableside service. The Harborside Grill staff will also be expected to go above and beyond to deliver memorable events, while consistently bringing a high level of energy and professionalism.
Employment Status: Most new and returning employees are hired under a seasonal employment status. Seasonal employees can typically expect a consistent schedule from approximately April to October each year. At the end of each respective season, employees are encouraged to submit requests to transition to either year-round part-time or full-time status. Approval of these requests will be contingent upon the needs of the Club and the employee's performance track record.
Qualifications:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent experience
- Two or more years of experience preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours, including key holidays, evenings, and weekends
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Physical capability to withstand prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, reaching, and twisting
- Ability to consistently lift over 50 lbs
- Valid driver’s license and a clean criminal record

- Exceeding the expectations of members and their guests, while representing the Club to the highest standards
- Inspecting service areas prior to opening to ensure that adequate supplies are available
- Knowledge of menu, menu enhancements and preparation methods
- Constant awareness of Harborside Grill flow
- Impeccable service and social perceptiveness
- Ability to evaluate guest satisfaction and responsiveness
- Collecting checks and payments for items served
- Carefully following all laws and club policies and procedures regarding alcoholic beverage service
- Slowing and refusing alcoholic verbiage service when necessary
- Continually seeking to enhanced knowledge and skills
- Maintaining self-awareness of members’, management and peers
- Assume responsibility for the department by:
- Ensuring proper staffing levels while enhancing recruitment efforts
- Managing department schedules, ensuring publication at least two weeks in advance, and requesting team timekeeping adjustments
- Maintaining proper inventory levels while keeping storage facilities safe and organized at all times
- Regularly communicating with the Executive Chef and Food and Beverage Director about issues and ongoing projects
