Position Summary: The position of Tennis Pro is ideal for a dynamic and experienced tennis professional who excels in coaching, program development, and member engagement. Working closely with the Athletics Director and Tennis Director, the Tennis Pro will develop and execute innovative programs, provide exceptional coaching, and foster a vibrant tennis community for members of all ages and skill levels. Work will generally be outdoors, with exposure to varying weather conditions.
Employment Status: Most new and returning employees will be hired under a seasonal employment status. Most seasonal employees can expect a consistent schedule from (approximately) April to October each year. At the end of each season, employees are welcome to submit requests to transition to either year-round part-time or full-time status. The approval of these requests will be based on the needs of the Club and the employee's performance track record.
Qualifications:
- USPTA or PTR Certification (professional level preferred)
- Three or more years of experience in a similar position (club experience preferred)
- Ability to work scheduled hours including holidays and weekends when necessary
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Lifting, bending, twisting, reaching, crouching, and crawling throughout the course of the job
- Being on your feet for an extended period of time
Duties:
- Serves as a positive role model by:

- Demonstrating effective communication skills through various digital platforms utilized by the Club
- Maintaining a positive and friendly demeanor at all times
- Working with peers to meet the needs of the team
- Representing the Club well in its relationships with members and vendors
- Continually provides services in the areas of:
- Assisting the Director of Tennis in planning, organizing, and executing a comprehensive tennis program, including lessons, clinics, tournaments, social events, and junior development
- Providing high-quality individual and group instruction to players of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced, including juniors, adults, and competitive players
- Promoting and encouraging participation in club events, leagues, and recreational play among members
- Assisting in the organization and management of club tournaments, inter-club competitions, and social events
- Maintaining a positive and engaging presence on the courts, fostering strong relationships with members
- Collaborating with the Director of Tennis on staffing, scheduling, and coordinating activities to ensure smooth operations
- Monitoring and maintaining clay tennis court facilities and equipment to ensure an optimal playing environment
- Staying current with tennis industry trends, coaching techniques, and program innovation to continually enhance member experience
- Continually seeking to enhance knowledge and skills
- Maintaining self-awareness of members’, management, and peers
- Assumes responsibility for the department by:
- Assisting supervisors in maintaining proper inventory levels
- Assisting with maintenance of courts and the facilities
- Maintaining facilities in a safe and organized manner
- Communicating with supervisors and peers concerning ongoing projects
