Description
Purpose:
Operate vehicles to transport equipment for the dealership. May instruct customers on basic equipment operating procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Transport equipment to/from customers and/or between dealer facilities; may also pick-up new equipment from a John Deere factory
- Responsible for safely and correctly loading and unloading cargo. This requires using DOT approved tie-down techniques with load-securing devices that are in good, working order.
- Maintain records of pickup and deliveries and obtain necessary signatures and receipts
- Follow rules and regulations, and maintain all required certifications in line with DOT, OSHA and company policy
- Responsible for completing pre- and post-trip inspections and reporting any necessary repairs
- Account for all time and distances traveled in performing assigned duties
- Need to maintain assigned trucks and related equipment in good, working condition
- May be required to instruct customers on basic equipment operating procedures
- Will perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
- 1 years semi-truck driving experience pulling a gooseneck, tilt, or utility trailer. Over-sized load hauling experience is preferred.
- CDL License
- Self-motivated
- Experience working cooperatively in a team environment
- Ability to lift items weighing upwards to 75 lbs repeatedly
- Ability to perform multiple duties as assigned
- High School diploma or equivalent experience
