Turf & Utility Service Technician - Belle Fourche

Purpose
This position is responsible for independently performing advanced diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned turf and utility equipment. The role may require occasional guidance from the Service Manager or Shop Foreman. As part of the Grossenburg Implement team, you’ll help deliver the highest quality service, ensuring customer equipment stays operational and productive.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics & Repairs: Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on John Deere turf and utility equipment and related technology with efficiency and accuracy, both in the field and at customer locations.
• Mentorship: Guide and mentor Service Technician Trainees and Service Technicians, fostering skill development and team collaboration.
• Customer Clinics: Conduct or assist in customer clinics, sharing knowledge and providing insights into proper equipment use and maintenance.
• On-Site Service: Travel to customer sites to perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance as needed, ensuring minimal equipment downtime.
• Work Order Accountability: Accurately document diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance performed on work orders, and ensure timely submission of this information for billing purposes.
• Continuous Learning: Participate in Service EDUCATE training programs to maintain and improve technical skills and knowledge of John Deere products and competitive equipment.
• Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment required to perform job responsibilities, ensuring they are in excellent working condition.
• Workplace Standards: Maintain a clean and orderly work area, adhering to all safety rules and regulations.
• Technical Knowledge: Stay updated on the latest John Deere turf and utility equipment, technology, and competitive products to provide accurate and informed service.

Qualifications
Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:

• Proven experience in service repairs, with a strong track record of meeting performance metrics.
• Skilled in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in turf and utility equipment.
• Experience using specialized tools and following technical manual procedures to perform complex repairs.
• Proficient in operating vehicles, tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Familiarity with basic computer functions; experience using Service ADVISOR or similar diagnostic tools is preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers and team members.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining professionalism and accountability.
• Adequate toolset to perform assigned job responsibilities.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required for field service).
