OVERVIEW & HIGHLIGHTS

 

The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District is seeking a qualified individual as a Specialty Lab Technician I - CADD (Computer Aided Drafting and Design). The incumbent under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform a variety of clerical and instructional support functions to assist in the overall operation of a specific instructional area. Assignments in this classification provide clerical and instructional lab support for one of the instructional support areas described below: Perform duties required to assist in the installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of networked and stand-alone computers in various instructional computing labs and smart-classrooms. Anticipated Start Date: March 2025

 

Salary: Range CL-22

 

$18.91 - $23.65 Hourly

 

$3,278 - $4,100 Monthly (based on 40 hours per week)

 

Initial Salary Placement: New employees start at Step A ($18.91 per hour) or B ($20.00 per hour) on the salary schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

EDUCATION:

 

Graduation from high school and some college level course work in Computer Science or closely related field.

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

Work experience in the use of computer hardware and software troubleshooting for area of assignment and experience in customer service, including public contact.

PREFERRED:

 

Some experience in the use of instructional equipment or tools used in assigned area is preferred.

VETERAN'S POINTS:

 

• Veterans not previously employed by the District, with 30 days or more of military service who become eligible for appointment by attaining the passing mark established for the examination, shall be allowed an additional credit of five (5) points and disabled veterans shall be allowed an additional credit of ten (10) points, which shall be added to the percentages attained in the examinations by the veterans.

 

• Any applicant who claims veteran's credit must submit Form DD 214 at the time the employment application is submitted. Failure to submit Form DD 214 at the time of application shall result in no veteran's credits being considered or added to any passing score.

 

ASSESSMENT PROCESS:

• The assessment process for this position may include any combination of the following:

• An application screening for initial qualifications

• Supplemental training and experience screening, documentation(s)/ certification(s) screening

 

• Written examination (Written exams contain proprietary content and are in-person only and cannot be completed remotely.)

 

• Performance examination (Performance exams are conducted in-person at the same time as the written exam.)

 

• Oral examination (Oral exams are conducted over Zoom. If you lack reliable computer or internet connectivity, accommodations will be provided in the Personnel Commission office for your participation.)

 

• The District reserves the right to utilize a flexible pass point (cut-off) on any test part to meet the staffing needs as determined by the District.

 

• If you participate in and fail any examination segment, you must wait a period of 90 days (approximately 3 months) to apply/test again for the same classification during a posted recruitment.

 

ASSESSMENT DATES:
