What are the responsibilities and job description for the PLTW (Project Lead the Way) Teacher - SY 2025-2026 position at Groton-Dunstable Regional Middle School?
Under the direct supervision of the Middle School Principal, the Project Lead The Way teacher is responsible for classroom instruction of the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Gateway Units of Design and Modeling/ Flight and Space – Grade 7 and Automation and Robotics – Grade 8, which integrates science, technology and math concepts with engineering.

Major responsibilities include:
Attend necessary training in PLTW units of Automation and Robotics, Design and Modeling (also Flight and Space) This may include summer sessions or may be done during the school year
Teach two 7th and two 8th grade PLTW/STEM classes.
Care and organization of materials for student group work.
Ensure given Engineering/Technology standards are met.
Within your classes; implementing, and reviewing individualized learning plans with students, parents, and teachers, reading psycho-educational reports; planning and communicating appropriate accommodations to students, parents, and teachers
Advising 12-15 students; facilitating the “Advisory” curriculum; communicating with parents of advisees
Participating in other aspects of the School community
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree preferred in Technology Education or Instructional Technology, Math and/or Science Education.
Certification in one of the following: 5-8 General Science, 5-12 Technology/Engineering, or 5-8 Mathematics/Science
Experience in teaching PLTW, CAD or engineering courses at the middle or high school level
Experience or training in VEX robotics and Coding. (part of PLTW training program)
Knowledge of Win10 computers
Knowledge and experience in using Google Docs for Education, and web 2.0 interactive tools
Familiarity with basic troubleshooting for Windows machines helpful
