What are the responsibilities and job description for the Horticulturalist position at Ground Builders?
Assist other crew members in the upkeep of property to keep it tidy and aesthetically pleasing. This will be completed by:
- Removal of weeds and debris from landscape beds
- Making sure that the edges of the mulch beds are tidy and within their defined locations
- Removal of weeds that are growing in the cracks of parking lot and sidewalks
- Trimming of branches from trees that are dead or hanging low
- Trimming of shrubs to keep them uniform looking
- Installation of plants (Trees,shrubs, and flowers) as needed per customer request
- Application of mulch as needed
- Assist crew in keeping equip
Reports to:
- Enhancement crew foreman
The work environment will consist of outdoor work in the seasonal elements:
- Moderate to high heat
- Occasional rain
Use of equipment to complete jobs:
- Trimmers
- Blowers
- Mini skid loader
- Bed edger
- Hand tools
Occasional loud noises with equipment use:
- Hearing protection provided and required
Presence of airborne debris:
- Eye protection provided and required
- Respiratory protection provided and required
Working Days and Hours:
- Monday through Friday 7am - 5pm
- Later as needed due to weather and deadlines
- Saturdays as needed
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in landscaping and grounds maintenance
- Knowledge of various types of plants
- Chemical applicators license (Preferred)
- Valid drivers License (Preferred)
- Detail oriented
- Motivated, self driven
- Experience running heavy equipment (Preferred)
- Ability to plan and coordinate along with team for efficient movement throughout day
