What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Materials Technician position at GROUND Engineering Consultants?
Since 1984, GROUND Engineering Consultants has been a locally owned and operated engineering firm providing a full range of consultant services to the design, engineering and construction industries. Our services include geotechnical engineering, construction management, pavement design, environmental assessment, materials testing, laboratory and on-site inspection services.
Description of Work:
· Inspect construction materials (i.e. Concrete, Soil, Asphalt)
· Inspect Building materials (i.e. Masonry, Rebar, Structural Steel)
· Understand plans and specifications for specific project
· Coordinate with contractors on site with results
· Record test data and enter into report software
· Perform laboratory tests per specification
· Write detailed daily reports regarding results and tests performed on site
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or Equivalent
· Must be at least 21 years old
· Must be able to sit, stand, and carry
· Must be able to lift up to 75lbs
· No DWI/DUI within the past 5 years
· No minor speeding tickets within the last 3 years
· Ability to pass pre-employment/random drug screening
· Strong Work Ethic
· Attention to detail
· Good communication Skills
Safety Responsibilities:
· Complete safety orientation program.
· Abide by safety and personal protective equipment policies.
· Demonstrate safe work practices and avoid unsafe behaviors.
· Drive defensively, avoid preventable accidents and always wear a seat belt.
· Attend regularly scheduled safety training.
· Report all unsafe conditions to your Supervisor.
Work Environment:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to precarious places, uneven and soft, saturated and/or frozen soil walking surfaces. The noise level in the work environment will typically be moderate to moderately loud.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
