Turf Applicator Technician

The Turf Applicator Technician is responsible applying fertilizers and weed / pest control products to promote healthy lawns and plants in the landscape. The Turf Applicator Technician completes all required lawn or plant applications by assessing the overall health of the lawn and plants and solves any issues related to weed, insect, disease, and other pest issues. This is a full time position – Monday through Friday, in addition to extended workdays, overtime, and weekend work as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

• Mix and apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides to lawns and plant materials according to label requirements and use proper PPE at all times.
• Safely operate and perform routine maintenance of all equipment. Prepare the truck and trailer daily for services including loading materials and equipment.
• Communicate to management client's property conditions and other field issues. This includes but is not limited to informing management of any property issues or concerns that are not resolved and reporting any damage that occurs as a result of treatment.
• Document all applications and the products being used.

Required Skills & Abilities

• High school education diploma or equivalent.
• Inspect and diagnose any lawn or landscaping issue and the ability to develop a plan of action to resolve.
• Ability to learn and identify weeds, growth, or pest related issues.

· Must possess ability to operate lawn fertilization and weed/pest application equipment including, but not limited to: zero turn ride on applicator, backpack sprayer, fertilizer lawn spreaders, truck and trailer equipment, and others.

• Follow all label requirements when applying fertilizers and pest control products.
• Strong communication skills – English verbal, written, and reading comprehension.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to follow directions.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally lift/move more.
• Maintain the physical fitness levels necessary to complete assigned tasks.
• Excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Meet all applicable Federal and State mandated labor laws.
• Be able to withstand strenuous work in adverse weather conditions.

Preferred Skills & Abilities

• Previous lawncare applicator or equivalent experience.
• Common knowledge of plants, turfs, lawn diseases, weeds, and other pests.

Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour

Experience:

• Commercial Landscaping: 2 years (Required)
• Pesticide: 1 year (Preferred)
• Lawn Care Chemical application: 2 years (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

• West Chester, OH 45011: Relocate before starting work (Required)
