The Loss Control Intern (LCI) would be responsible for assisting with tasks like:

  • Creating and maintaining a database of insured contacts
  • Conducting basic (Safety 101) virtual and telephonic risk assessments with smaller accounts
  • Identifying loss trends and making basic recommendations to smaller accounts
  • Following-up on open safety recommendations for loss control consultants
  • Performing basic analysis of loss data for our loss control consultants
  • Developing and editing safety training materials
  • Researching industry best practices,
  • Developing and providing basic recommendations for loss prevention strategies
  • Gain exposure to different aspects of risk management, safety compliance and OSHA standards

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Performing 10 virtual / telephonic service units per week
  • Providing accurate trending data to consultants
  • Developing documentation of virtual / telephonic service units
  • Creating and sending follow-up letters and emails to our insureds

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate student majoring in Business Administration, Safety and/or Risk Management studies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Insurance industry is ideal
  • Ability to clearly articulate complex information to others.
  • Detail oriented with strong focus on quality of deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and solve problems and issues of all types.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ownership and accountability for deliverables
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships and work effectively with any department.
  • Strong computer skill and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint) skills

Benefits Highlights:  

Employees who meet benefit eligibility guidelines and work 30 hours or more weekly, have the ability to enroll in Group 1001’s benefits package.
