Job Summary
Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician to manage equipment data, estimate cable lengths, and document fieldwork. Must have strong communication skills and be proficient in MS Office. A relevant degree or significant experience and technical certifications are preferred. Frequent travel is an essential part of our field services operations. However, through our work life balance program, we ensure that technicians who prefer to travel less aren't away from home for more than 2 consecutive weeks.
Responsibilities
- Electrical equipment data gathering for engineering projects
- Includes opening equipment and evaluating internal electrical components
- Estimating cable/conductor lengths
- Downloading relay settings
- Taking and documenting numerous field notes
- Daily monitoring and distribution of EED leads
- New project walk-thru’s
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Communication skills:
- Basic oral and written skills
- Technical communication background
- Interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of SKM or similar electrical engineering software (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code and NFPA 70E
- Ability to work independently as well as within small teams
- Strong organizational skills
Education & Experience
- 2-year electrical engineering technician (or related) degree OR Master Electrician License OR 5 years job related experience
Certifications
- Licensed electrician (Preferred)
- Infrared thermography (Preferred)
- Other related job related certifications (Preferred)
Travel Requirements
Depending on projects, travel could be up to 80%
