Position Purpose
As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be accountable for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI . You will work closely with various departments to gather requirements, create data models, and deliver insightful reports and dashboards. This role actively participates in Scrum ceremonies, aligning development efforts with Agile principles, and supports business decision-making by providing data integrity, security, and quality integrations in a timely manner.
Essential Position Functions

This role actively participates in Scrum ceremonies, aligning development efforts with Agile principles, and supports business decision-making by providing data integrity, security, and quality integrations in a timely manner.
Essential Position Functions
- Design build, and maintain data models within Microsoft Fabric and Power BI to effectively represent complex business data, defining relationships between tables and creating calculated measures using DAX.
- Utilize SQL queries to extract data from various sources, clean and transform it into a usable format for analysis within Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
- Create visually appealing and interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI's visualization tools, including charts, graphs, maps, and custom visuals to effectively communicate insight
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs, translate them into actionable insights, and develop reports that align with business objectives which include delivering business reports and shaping datasets.
- Ensure the efficiency and responsiveness of Microsoft Fabric and Power BI reports and dashboards by optimizing data models and queries.
- Define and maintain data security, quality and consistency within Microsoft Fabric and Power BI reports by implementing data validation and governance practices.
- Actively participate in working sessions to help define system and security requirements pertaining to Microsoft Fabric and Power BI related systems within Agile iterations.
- Document business requirements associated with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI projects/processes within Agile cycles. Guide activities around functional design, architectural design, test case design, and system testing to ensure all requirements are met.
- Define data and integration standards, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Assure quality, reliability, and security in all Microsoft Fabric and Power BI solutions, aligning with the agreed DevOps approach.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of IT-related policies and procedures on a yearly basis.
- Develop and implement custom solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate.
Minimum Requirements of the Position
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related degree.
- Five years of experience in developing business intelligence solutions using PowerBI, including creating data models, reports, and dashboards.
- Experience with SQL, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Microsoft SSAS, SSRS, Visual Studio, and DevOps. Knowledge of RDBMS principles and database design
- Knowledge of best practices related to data security, and experience with relevant HIPAA standards and SOC regulations.
- Prior experience in healthcare or the health insurance industry preferred, securing data in production environments while providing de-identifiable information to lower development environments, experience with deployment, and data replication in a multi-stage environment (DevOps).
Certification Requirements
Although it is not realistic for every candidate to carry all listed certifications, it is expected that the employee/candidate be certified in Scrum and credentialed in at least two of the Azure certifications listed below. It is also acceptable to suggest and achieve equal alternative certifications. New hires without required certifications will have 180 days to successfully accomplish the agreed certifications.
Scrum Certification: Obtain Certified Scrum Developer (PSD I/II) and/or Professional Scrum Master (PSM I) to demonstrate proficiency in Scrum principles and practices.
Azure Certifications:
