Position Purpose
The Government Programs Analyst will be responsible for assisting the Government Programs Manager and Government Programs Director with the administration of various Government Programs and to ensure health plan adherence to both internal and regulatory procedures, documentation, and reporting deadlines. The Government Programs Analyst will also assist Senior Management and the Government Programs Manager and Government Programs Director with responding to outside entity audits, reviews, and requests for information.
Essential Functions
The Government Programs Analyst will be responsible for assisting the Government Programs Manager and Government Programs Director with the administration of various Government Programs and to ensure health plan adherence to both internal and regulatory procedures, documentation, and reporting deadlines. The Government Programs Analyst will also assist Senior Management and the Government Programs Manager and Government Programs Director with responding to outside entity audits, reviews, and requests for information.
Essential Functions
- Assist the Government Programs Manager and Government Programs Director with scheduled and/or ad hoc audits and requests for information from contracted clients;
- Assist the Government Programs Manager and Government Programs Director with various governmental program related projects that require strong research abilities, problem solving and critical thinking skills, and organization.
- Act as a liaison between the Government Programs department and staff by interpreting policy language and government program contract language and providing guidance;
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with governmental agency staff associated with the Cooperative's government product lines;
- Assist in coordinating the submission of regulatory reporting, including those submitted to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) and the State of Wisconsin.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects on a daily basis;
- Able to maintain the highest standard of confidentiality;
- Strong customer focus;
- Strong analytical and research skills;
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as exercise independent judgment in matters of significance to the organization;
Minimum Requirements of the Position
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Care Administration or related field is preferred or equivalent experience required;
- One to two years experience in healthcare regulatory compliance is preferred;
- Knowledge of the health insurance industry required; Wisconsin Medicaid and Medicare knowledge required;
- Familiarity with Health Plan Management System (HPMS) preferred;
- Organized and attentive to detail;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel is required. Proficiency in PowerPoint is preferred;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to work well with many different personality types;
- Excellent work ethic with the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently;
