Position in Dermatology specialty 1.0 FTE / 40 hours a week    POSITION SUMMARY The Physician Assistant - Dermatology position provides outpatient care in a Dermatology specialty setting under the supervision of physicians consistent with relevant GHC-SCW policies and procedures and limited to the role of a physician assistant as defined by the State of Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services. The Physician Assistant functions as a healthcare provider with an advanced degree of knowledge, skill and expertise in history taking, physical exam, medical evaluation, treatment and clinical care management of members. The Physician Assistant serves under the general administrative supervision and direction of the Clinic Site Chief with additional accountabilities to the Senior Medical Director. The incumbent knows and abides by all Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin (GHC-SCW) organizational and departmental policies, sets personal standards and strives for high quality work in completing assignments, performs job duties in a timely manner, and represents the organization in a positive manner. The incumbent understands our Mission, Vision, and Common Values (stated below) and is committed to promote these values in behavior and attitude.   JOB SPECIFIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Science degree in an accredited Physician Assistant program required. Physician Assistant Certification by the State of Wisconsin under the rules of the Medical Examining Board required. Current (or ability to attain) membership in professional Physician Assistant organization(s) required. Dermatology specialty work experience and/or additional dermatology specific training is strongly preferred Possession of or eligibility for a valid Healthcare Provider CPR/AED certificate is required. Employee must obtain certification within four (4) months of employment Knowledge of scientific practice principles, methods and techniques as a basis for quality decision-making and to provide a high level of service required. Ability to adapt standard practices for care of specific cases required.  Ability to recognize and identify medical symptoms and problems required. Current knowledge of and maintenance of medical related trends, techniques and certifications required. Ability to provide dermatology services including evaluation, management and procedural care Ability to read and interpret various medical reports and/or results. Ability to educate members and/or families as to the nature of disease and to provide instruction on proper care, treatments and follow-up.  Excellent verbal, written communication and listening skills both in-person and on the phone required. Excellent assessment skills required. Ability to problem-solve and to prioritize changing patient conditions required. Knowledge of interviewing practices and techniques used in order to gather information. Ability to maintain quality, safety and /or infection control standards. Excellent customer service skills required.  Strong interpersonal skills.  Ability to be culturally sensitive and work with a diverse patient population.       Knowledge of and/or ability to learn and use computer based applications such as MS Office and electronic medical record systems.   Experience with EPIC is desirable but not required.  Knowledge of medical records and appropriate documentation requirements.  Basic understanding or ability to learn about reimbursement/insurance practices for medical care. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality required. Knowledge of HIPAA requirements.  Ability to work as member of a team and maintain good working relationships with staff and members required. Good organizational skills in the delivery of clinical care required. Ability to remain calm and be resourceful in emergency situations required.  Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Ability to climb, stoop, kneel and crouch required.  Ability to bend, reach, lift, pull, push and/or carry up to 10 pounds regularly.   Ability to continuously stand and transport, and with occasional sitting required. Ability to talk (speak clearly), hear (conversation), see (corrected vision for near and far sight, color vision, and depth perception) on a frequent basis required.
