This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week.
The Premium Reconciliation Specialist is responsible for various clerical and technical tasks associated with premium billing and reconciliation. This includes managing the daily Lockbox for individual and group premium payments, ensuring balances are accurate; processing and posting all federal and Medicaid premiums; downloading and posting online payments; preparing and sending termination notices for overdue accounts; maintaining pull lists for premium billing cycles; and offering customer service to individual and group members. The position operates under the general supervision and guidance of the Premium Billing Supervisor.

Job Specific Minimum Qualifications
1. High school graduate or equivalent is required. Associate degree from an accredited technical college or school in a relevant field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
2. Minimum of one (1) year of accounting or bookkeeping experience is required.
3. Knowledge of standard accounting and bookkeeping practices, procedures and GAAP principles.
4. Knowledge of basic mathematical, algebraic, and statistical concepts related to bookkeeping and accounting practices.
5. Knowledge of and ability to use computer software programs and systems including Microsoft Office Suite or other accounting spreadsheet software.
6. Ability to use and or learn computer systems such as EPIC. Experience with EPIC is desirable.
7. Ability to use a keyboard extensively. Ability to type 30 wpm accurately.
8. Ability to enter data accurately.
9. Ability to file numerically and alphabetically.
10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong customer service abilities.
11. Ability to communicate with vendors, members and GHC-SCW personnel in a professional manner.
12. Ability to be culturally sensitive and work with diverse populations.
13. Ability to work independently.
14. Ability to organize a diverse workload by deadlines.
15. Ability to maintain organizational and patient confidentiality. Ability to learn and/or knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
16. Ability to work in office environment and sit at desk for up to 8 hours per day.
17. Ability to speak and listen in person and on the phone.
18. Ability to perform fingering and handling with one or both hands.
19. Ability to focus on computer screen for extended periods of time.
