So, what is the Safety Coordinator II responsible for?
- This position will coordinate the implementation of key safety programs through direct interaction with clients
- Monitor safety and risk management software, programs, vendors, and overall insurability of existing and prospective clients
- Provide and conduct safety trainings, walk throughs, and assessments for clients
- Perform onsite safety inspections, determine probable causes, work with Safety Manager to make recommendations for corrective action and follow up with clients to ensure measures have been implemented
- Use knowledge to wear correct Personal Protective Equipment at all times and is responsible for having available personal protective equipment at all times
- Conduct post accident investigations and prepare reports identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by the clients' senior management
- Communicate any red flags to Manager and Risk Department
- Support Risk team with information regarding clients lost-time injuries/illnesses and worker's compensation claims so GMS can better manage all claims
- Assist clients and other departments with creating safety programs and be a resource for questions as they relate to safety
- Conduct OSHA trainings in either the construction or general industry for clients
- Perform all others duties as assigned
What are some Qualifications?
- Education/Experience - Bachelor's degree required and 3 years related safety experience preferred; or equivalent combination of both
- Certifications - AED/CPR-American Heart Association Certification preferred
- Certification as an OSHA Authorized Trainer preferred
- Certified PIT trainer preferred
- Other - Valid driver's license is required; Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time; overnight stays may be necessary
