Description
To provide Industrial and Process Engineering support to forward and reverse logistics, and testing of telecom related product ranges, to ensure production targets are met to agreed time, efficiency, cost and quality requirements are achieved. Essential Functions
- Same responsibilities as Industrial Engineer, but for bigger or more complex products/processes/equipment. In addition, this role will have a direct contact with Operations and therefor will manage the support technicians.
- Develop most efficient ways to use people, machines, materials, information, and energy to make a product or service.
- Help increase productivity by standardization of methods, workstations and man to machine interactions.
- Optimize methods of Operations organization.
- Study product requirements, design manufacturing and information systems to meet requirements.
- Develop management control systems.
- Perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes.
- Perform time studies on manual, semi-automated and automated processes
- Perform Gauge R&R (as applicable)
- Perform Takt time calculations.
- Assist in financial planning and cost analysis.
- Design production planning and control systems.
- Design methods to ensure product quality.
- Improve ways to distribute goods and services.
- Determine most viable plant and factory locations.
- Resolve production problems.
- Design layout of equipment and workspace.
- Estimate production costs.
- Create sampling procedures and designs.
- Evaluate accuracy of production and testing equipment.
- Study and rearrange org charts, material flow, and operations sequence.
- Develop Process Flow Charts, Process Control Plans and FMEA
- Evaluate effects of product design changes.
- Designs portions of procedures and area processes for both in-house use (Factory Acceptance and Engineering development).
- Working with the program team, may interface with the customer including providing inputs to technical presentations, telecoms, formal reviews, etc.
- May contribute to designs that further advances Statistical Process Control (SPC), CPK error analysis tools and features.
- Provides technical support to other process disciplines and production personnel for release of new production programs and procedures. Assists in the transition from development to standardize production methods.
- Participates in integration, verification and validation activities of developed equipment placement and methodology.
- Participates in equipment maintenance procedures, and repair of equipment and systems in factory and field installation procedures.
- Prepares engineering changes, status reports, as required.
- Provides peer review in production environment and optimization projects.
- Provide inputs to metrics for reporting to Project Engineering Management as well as Corporate Management. This may include Technical Performance data, defects, etc.
Education/Certifications:
- Accredited College Degree in Industrial Engineering
- Training in Six Sigma Green Belt methodologies.
- OTJ training, previous years of experience.
- Auto-Cad 2D or 3D or equivalent a plus.
- Master degree
- Candidate should have experience with both hardware and software integration and testing methodologies and will be involved in verifying, certifying all aspects of a telecom-grade, fault-tolerate, highly available, hardware and software solution.
- Telecom LTE, WCDMA, GSM level of qualifications or equivalent.
- Production Line and process experience
- High Volume Low mix and Low Volume High mix environments
- 10 or more years’ experience as a telecom technician in a structured product development life cycle.
- Telecommunications/Telephony/SS7 experience is required.
- Wireless Provisioning experience a major plus.

- The candidate must be a self-starter with the capacity/desire to be a team-lead on various projects.
- An excellent understanding of measurement and engineering principles, and equipment.
- An excellent understanding of Industrial Engineering principles and process knowledge would be a need.
- Ability to manage customer engineering interface and variant control.
- Efficient at writing work instructions, technical dialog and English as a speaking language in Work Instruction Development.
