Responsibilities Include
- Serve as main point of contact for all parties involved in the project.
- Responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of the project; Full profit and loss, including invoicing and collections.
- Oversee recruiting, hiring, termination, promotion, transferring, salary, performance evaluation of all personnel on project.
- Execution of strategic business plans, marketing and business development.
- Mentor, manage, and coach staff.
- Manage the policies, procedures, protocols, and preparation of all project construction execution plans in accordance with contract.
- Monitoring and auditing of construction activities to ensure compliance with the project.
- Report on project financials, schedules, delays, risks to all parties involved while coming to the table with solutions to any issues.
- Successfully negotiate claims or change orders with all parties to ensure positive outcome for all.
As the Project Director, you must possess the following abilities:
- Comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents
- Respond effectively to the most sensitive issues
- Write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style
- Make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, users, top management and/or public groups
- Motivate and negotiate effectively with employees and client groups to take desired action.
- Take initiative and make decisions with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve complex results.
- Knowledge of financial terms and principles; conducts complex financial/business analysis including the preparation of complex reports, as well as to prepare and manage project/departmental budgets
- Advanced analytical and quantitative skills; excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor's degree, Master’s degree in Business, Planning & Design, Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture a plus
- Minimum of 15-20 years' experience in managing design and construction of major transit projects.
- Professional license a plus
- 8 years managerial experience required with demonstrated rail/transit projects.
- Knowledge of transit agencies operations, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of project management scheduling and estimating.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations, and industry safety standards (e.g. OSHA).
- Proficient in the use of personal computer and office software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
- Familiar working in proximity to active transit operations
