Group14's Major Projects team is tasked with taking the company's strategic development objectives and making them a reality. Comprised of individuals with varied technical, construction and project management backgrounds, the Major Projects team works with all facets of the organization to define, execute and manage scope, schedule and budget for the company's largest, most complicated and critical projects.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Project Controls Managers are responsible for overseeing various facets of the project to ensure successful and efficient execution. Key responsibilities include planning and scheduling, cost estimation and budgeting, risk management, performance monitoring, change management, reporting, collaboration with project stakeholders, compliance with policies and standards, and continuous improvement.
In addition to these core responsibilities, Project Controls Managers play a crucial role in team management. Leading and guiding a team of project controls professionals, they provide coaching, support, and foster a collaborative team culture. This leadership aspect is essential for ensuring effective coordination, communication, and alignment with company and project goals.
Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and overall strategy.
Develop and maintain project schedules, including work breakdown structures (WBS) and critical path analysis.
Prepare and monitor project budgets, estimate costs, and track expenses throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide inputs, collaborate and align with the Finance team on project budgets.
Identify, assess, and manage project risks. Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
Establish and monitor project performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and take corrective actions as needed.
Implement and manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget. Evaluate the impact of changes on project objectives and budget, in partnership with the Finance team.
Generate regular project status reports for stakeholders. Communicate project progress, issues, and resolutions effectively.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure coordination and alignment with project goals.
Ensure compliance with project controls policies, procedures, and standards.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement strategies to enhance project controls efficiency and optimize performance.
Lead and manage a team of project controls professionals. Provide guidance, coaching, and support to team members. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
Conducting and presenting a feasibility analysis for proposed projects.
Maintain project contracts and project level cost reporting and forecasting.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
At least 15+ years of experience with 5+ years on program or project management teams, with a focus on major project delivery.
Strong understanding of project lifecycle and project management principles and practices.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to travel to project locations both within and outside of the US.
Strong computer skills and experience with relevant software programs (Primavera, MS Project, and related PMS systems)
Experience with stakeholder and financial management.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
OTHER QUALITIES WE'D LOVE FOR YOU TO HAVE:
Experience with capital projects in the battery materials or other chemical process industries.
Experience with Project Management Information Systems (PMISs, e.g., Kahua, PM Web, etc.)
The annual base salary range for this position is $130,000 - $170,000. All positions come with a bonus plan and company stock options. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, the applicant's qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the position is located.
