As a Clinical Documentation / Utilization Review Specialist, you'll leverage your strong clinical experience and deep knowledge to ensure precise and comprehensive clinical documentation in medical records, accurately reflecting patients' clinical conditions. Your role will involve :
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team : Work closely with physicians, allied health professionals, health information management experts, and nursing staff to ensure high-quality documentation.
- Optimizing patient care : Utilize a concurrent review process to enhance the severity of illness and overall quality in the medical record.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance : Apply MS-DRG classification following Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations and other pertinent coding and compliance standards.
- Prioritizing case reviews : Focus on prioritized cases and review records for documentation accuracy related to APR-DRG classification and Quality Data elements (e.g., Patient Safety Indicators, Readmissions).
