JOB SUMMARY: The Shipping Clerk prepares orders per company and customer specifications. Organization, work ethic and the ability to work under time constraints are important characteristics for this position. Ability to safely operate a hi-lo in a fast paced environment is a must. This is a SPLIT SHIFT position. 6:45am-3:15pm
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Verifies accuracy of shipments (i.e. Qty, labels, pallets, paperwork).
- Loading and unloading of trucks.
- Labeling boxes & skids per customer requirements.
- Processing incoming Dunnage for use in production.
- Wrapping, banding & storage of all skids.
- Maintain organization of the warehouse and dock area.
- Assist the receiving department as needed.
- Clean and sweep, where necessary.
- Must be pro-active in their job duties.
- Must be able to communicate, both written and verbal, in the English language.
- Communicate with co-workers and outside drivers in a professional manner.
- Maintain driver log book.
- Must have knowledge of computer systems
- Must have a valid hi-lo license, chauffer’s license a plus.
- Pull, stage and scan orders for shipment.
- Aid in physical inventory procedures.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
MINIMUM LEVEL OF EDUCATIONAL & TRAINING:
A minimum of two to four years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
MINIMUM LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Analytical skills
- Detail oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem solving.
- Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to lift objects over 25 pounds
- Must be able to work in labor-intensive environment requiring full mobility and adequate strength
- Able to work in high heat conditions
- Stand for long periods of time
- Available to work weekends and any necessary overtime
