Position Summary for RN Supervisor
Responsible for supervision of the RN nursing team. The RN Supervisor will provide or coordinate the provision of support to patients and also assist with in-service training, direction, and supervision to staff.
Position Responsibilities for RN Supervisor
- Ensures the facility and staff provide an environment of care that supports the principles of patient centered care by establishing effective partnerships characterized by mutual respect and inclusion in the care process.
- Is responsible for the day to day supervision of the nursing and clinical support staff including but not limited to: hiring, training/orienting, disciplining, conducting ongoing performance, delegation of work responsibilities and daily assignments.
- Oversees the daily flow of administrative office tasks including: patient scheduling, team assignments, coverage for lunch and breaks, room assignments, medication dispensary.
- Collects and analyzes data to monitor the delivery of patient care.
- Ensures compliance with all infection control and environment of care regulations.
- Participates in trainings and quality improvement activities.
- Assess and train staff on clinical competencies annually, upon hire, and as needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Education: Associates or Bachelor's RN degree.
- Certification: Current RN license is required. CPR is a plus.
- Experience: Experience as a Charge Nurse or supervisory experience is preferred.
