Duties
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control protocols.
- Take and develop X-rays as needed, ensuring proper techniques are followed.
- Record and maintain accurate medical documentation, including patient histories and treatment plans.
- Monitor vital signs of patients before, during, and after procedures.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Manage patient scheduling, including confirming appointments and following up on cancellations.
- Support pediatric dentistry by creating a welcoming environment for young patients.
- Assist with prosthodontics procedures as required by the dental team.
- Utilize dental software systems such as Dentrix Dexis, Primescan, and Romexis for efficient patient management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles is a plus.
- Familiarity with X-ray techniques and safety protocols.
- Understanding of infection control standards in a dental setting.
- Ability to take vital signs accurately and efficiently.
- Proficient in medical documentation practices related to dental care.
