Job Description

This is, instead, a lifestyle role that will likely haunt you in your sleep. The Lab Technician will work in a demanding, freezing environment where high energy and a positive attitude are essential. This entry-level role focuses primarily on cleaning, material preparation, and maintaining an organized, efficient workspace to support the extraction process. This role is an essentially non-product-touching apprenticeship, and must have a keen eye for detail.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitation protocols to support production readiness
• Maintain a positive attitude and high energy in a cold, physically demanding environment
• Maintain an exceptional level of attention to detail in all tasks
• Embrace a continuous improvement mindset, continually seeking ways to optimize processes
• Hold yourself to high performance standards, striving for excellence in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Be ready to constructively take frequent direction and criticism
• Demonstrate self-motivation and take initiative as a proactive team member
• Take pride in delivering high-quality work and maintaining a clean, efficient workspace
• Focus on material preparation to assist the extraction process; this is not a hash-making role (yet)
• Promote a fast-paced, energetic culture while adhering to strict safety and industry standards
• Carry out additional duties and special projects as assigned by leadership
  
  

Skills, Abilities, And Competencies

• Must be able to withstand extreme working environments with temperatures regularly -20f or colder
• Ability to maintain an incredibly high degree of attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong agility, engagement, and flexibility in an ever-changing environment
• Working knowledge of logging, organizing, and analyzing data
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Working knowledge of standard laboratory protocol
• Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively work, problem solve, and communicate with multiple levels of the organization
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform repetitive tasks

Education & Experience

• 0-1 year of lab experience
• Knowledge of principles, terminology, practices, techniques, and instrumentation commonly used in a laboratory setting preferred
• Exposure to the cannabis industry is a plus
