Job Title: Garden Center Live Goods Merchandiser (GCM Provider-Walmart)
Locations: RI and MA
Position: Seasonal Hourly non-exempt
Reports to: Regional Merchandising Manager (servicing Walmart)
Job Description
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships, interact professionally and maintain effective communication with diverse groups, including store management teams and associates and GMS Merchandising personnel
- Unload racks, build attractive displays on Garden Center tables, according to plan-o-gram.
- Ensure displayed merchandise is condensed and signed properly.
- Remove distressed product from display.
- Pruning/ culling live goods.
- Keep the display area clean and well-organized.
- Minimize markdowns and shrink by pruning/ culling live goods.
- Utilize company's markdown tool to handle inventory owned by company.
- Determining and marking down live goods as necessary.
- Merchandise Supermarket, GM entrances, sidewalk and parking lot displays.
- Communicate daily with manager and follow up on all requests from management in a timely manner.
- Understand and follow all Grower Merchandising standard operating procedures and policies, including work hours and APP utilization.
- Assisting in building and/or putting the tables and galvanized racks together
Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to download required apps, and utilize per company policy every work day
- Able to meet the physical demands of the job which includes: standing for prolonged periods, reaching and bending repeatedly, lifting, pushing and pulling safely up to 50 pounds
- Willing to work in all weather conditions
- Available to work weekends and Holidays when required
- Ability to execute plan-o-grams and signage guidelines
- Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize accordingly
- Must be self- motivated, hardworking, energetic, detail oriented and able to work independently
