Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team in ensuring the optimal performance of our facilities and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in industrial maintenance, project management, and team leadership. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance management, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Duties
- Work with safety coordinator; determine and assure conformance to safety policies.
- Implements a tracking system that provides current and accurate progress on all projects.
- Implements new and improved process to maximize efficiency in the production lines.
- Ensure production lines are properly staffed with maintenance techs, equipped and managed, ensuring a high standard of performance and a safe work environment.
- Obtains quotes and approvals for own area and allocates resources accordingly.
- Interface effectively with subordinates and vendors.
- Monitors subordinate performance and output and substandard work and identify conditions that create barriers.
- Provides leadership for subordinate relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
- Proved leadership for problem resolution to facilitate fast improvements and improved working relationships.
- Develop, evaluates, and improves maintenance methods.
- Analyzes and plans maintenance work force utilization, requirements, and workflow, and designs maintenance processes for maximum efficiency.
- Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding maintenance capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate efficient maintenance processes.
- Reviews manufacturers’ service manuals, plants usage schedules, and records of maintenance problems to determine optimum frequency of preventative maintenance.
- Coordinates preventive maintenance activities with operations supervisors to determine when planned maintenance will least interfere with operation of production equipment.
- Estimates costs of parts, and supplies to be used during scheduled maintenance.
- Arranges and supervises contractors as required when internal resources are not available or outside of expertise.
- Maintain records of planned and completed preventive maintenance.
- Advise immediate management on labor issues including safety, security, employee involvement, pro-active communication, inter-departmental cooperation, and continual improvement on all levels.
- Work with immediate management to implement employee personal development plans as required to ensure continuing professional growth of department personnel.
- Assist and maintain a continuous cross-training program within the department to promote development, enhance flexibility, and ensure backup coverage of vital functions and processes.
- Function as effective leader on all levels to ensure that subordinates and GDN needs are addressed in a timely and productive manner.
- Understand and use the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Assists and implements reliability program to achieve cumulative effect on the final system reliability of individual part reliabilities.
- Confers with project and quality engineers, supervisors and vendors to determine product specifications and standards for the purchase of equipment, materials, and parts.
- Must be able to keep personnel and employee performance information confidential.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- College degree preferred but not required
- At least five years’ experience as well as experience supervising technical personnel are highly desired
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical safety and preventative maintenance programs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs
Physical Demands
- Will frequently stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle and feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, taste and smell.
- Will seldom sit and occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel crouch or crawl.
- Must use both hands for rapid mental muscular coordination, simultaneously.
- Must be able to reach high and low levels, frequently.
- Must be able to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level up to 20 pounds frequently.
- Must lift with arms up to floor to waist, waist to shoulder 20 pounds.
- Must be able to constantly stand/stoop/walk/bend, up to 12 hrs.
- Ability to strenuous flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently (15 flexion/minute).
- May work near moving mechanical parts.
- May work around wet or humid conditions, in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold (non-weather), extreme heat (non-weather), risk of electrical shock, and/or risk of vibration.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
