Position Summary
The Labor Supervisor is responsible for managing labor for assigned greenhouse(s) and areas. The Supervisor manages and onboards all employees on daily operational tasks, safety protocols and ensures everyone conducts proper documentation.
Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)
- Partner with assigned Head Grower to plan daily labor needs and ensure greenhouse(s) and assigned areas are being staffed accordingly to production plans.
- Responsible for safety training, updating documentation pertinent to these trainings, and report to safety coordinator.
- Work closely with Operations on logistics of daily load delivery.
- Evaluate, plan for all labor needs and assign general labor to specific tasks as needed to execute production needs.
- Effectively manage all labor efficiently and assure that quality is not compromised.
- Monitor the performance of each team member and progress of the tasks assigned to them, provide feedback as needed.
- Accomplishes staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees as needed, by partnering with the Head Grower and Human Resources.
- Performs all duties in accordance with environmental, food safety, safety rules and regulations.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Experience)
High School Diploma or GED required.
2 years of experience in Agricultural setting or related field.
Ability to supervise a group (20 ) of employees.
Intermediate Computer Skills (Outlook, excel, Word, etc.)
Physical Requirements
While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; frequently required to talk or hear; and occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities by this job include close distance and color vision.
The compensation range for this role is determined by factors such as location and required skills. The salary range provided reflects the lowest to highest amount we reasonably anticipate paying for this position at the time of posting. Compensation is influenced by labor market conditions and various factors, including but not limited to: the prevailing minimum wage in the area, relevant education, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, sales or revenue targets, and business needs.
