Position Summary
The Operations Coordinator is responsible for supporting and coordinating nursery operations at the designated location. This role involves managing germination counts, inventory, consumables, and ordering materials, while ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of production data. The coordinator also assists in monitoring plant growth and promptly communicates any deviations to management.

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)
- Provide operational support to the local management team.
- Ensure timely and accurate data entry for germination counts and production metrics.
- Collaborate with production and safety supervisors to gather and report compliance data for safety, food safety, and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).
- Stage and prepare seed and sowing data for the seed line operations team.
- Conduct routine inventories of products and materials.
- Monitor inventory of consumables, including fuel, pots, pot covers, fertilizers, and chemicals.
- Assist the production supervisor in ordering nursery production and maintenance materials.
- Support monitoring of plant growth and alert management to any deviations from expected outcomes.
- Perform follow-up inspections to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures by the irrigation team.
- Collaborate with the greenhouse information specialist, transplanting team, and sales representatives to accurately calculate plant loading information.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Experience)
- High school diploma or GED required, Associate degree preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate via email.
- Experience in agriculture or horticulture is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- Valid CA Driver’s License must maintain eligibility for company vehicle insurance.
Physical Requirements
While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; frequently required to talk or hear; and occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities by this job include close distance and color vision.
