ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER
Overview: GrowGeneration is one of the largest retailers of hydroponic products in the United States and is engaged in the business of marketing and distributing horticultural, organics, lighting, and hydroponics products, including lighting fixtures, nutrients, seeds and growing media, systems, trays, fans, filters, humidifiers and dehumidifiers, timers, instruments, water pumps, irrigation supplies, and hand tools.
Position Reports To: Store Manager
Hourly: $25-$28/hour DOQ
Posting to remain open until at least February 28, 2025
Purpose of Position: To support the Store Manager with leading and managing a local team of Retail and Warehouse Associates in a manner which promotes safety, profitability, responsible inventory management, industry education, and the overall growth and continued success of GrowGeneration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support store strategies to raise customer base, increase store traffic, and optimize store profitability
- Complete store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results
- Encourage positive staff engagement by motivating, training, and mentoring employees
- Facilitate overall store success by coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff members
- Support high-quality customer service by communicating and upholding organization standards
- Maintain outstanding store condition and Visual Merchandizing standards
- Prepare promotional materials and in-store displays as needed
- Perform routine inventory counts, monitor stock levels, and order new items when required
- Ensure security of store assets and bank deposits by supervising cash handling procedures and assessing the condition of the safes and various surveillance equipment within the store
- Provide outstanding customer service that increases overall customer satisfaction
- Address all customer complaints or issues that arise in a professional, courteous manner
- Handle staff conflicts, complaints, and problems professionally and according to GrowGeneration policies whenever Store Manager is absent
- Assist customers by providing information, answering questions, obtaining merchandise requested, completing payment transactions, and preparing merchandise for delivery
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2 years’ of previous People Management experience
- Hydroponic and/or cultivation experience required
- Exceptional professionalism and emotional intelligence, particularly during stressful or confidential situations
- Proficient at speaking, listening, and typing in English
- Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs. to waist height repeatedly
- Able to stand or remain stationary for extended periods of time
- Comfortable working in hot or cold conditions for the duration of a shift

Compensation includes a salary commensurate with experience, participation in group insurance plans upon eligibility, paid time off, sick leave, parental leave and more. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. Part-time employees are eligible for up to six (6) days of paid sick leave (subject to state and local laws), two (2) weeks of paid parental leave, and participation in the 401k. Benefits may be subject to generally applicable eligibility, waiting period, contribution, and other requirements and conditions.
