Growing Home Southeast is hiring for a Licensed Mobile Crisis Counselor
Be a game changer in the lives of youth and children in foster care
The licensed Mobile Crisis Counselor will provide immediate support to youth and children in foster care. This role involves delivering both virtual and in-home crisis intervention services, offering support during critical situations to ensure the safety and well-being of children and youth. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, adaptable, and skilled in managing crises with a focus on fostering resilience and stability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Provide on-call crisis intervention and support to youth and children in foster care, both virtually and in-home as needed.
  • Assess and evaluate the immediate needs of children and youth during crises, developing and implementing appropriate intervention strategies.
  • Collaborate with foster care staff, therapists, referring agency and other relevant professionals to ensure comprehensive care and follow-up.
  • Develop and implement safety plans and coping strategies tailored to individual needs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of interventions, assessments, and follow-ups.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to children and youth, helping them navigate and manage their crises.
  • Offer support and consultation to foster parents and caregivers on managing crisis situations and fostering a supportive environment.
  • Stay informed about best practices and developments in crisis intervention and child welfare.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role does not supervise any staff members.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field required.
  • Hold valid and active license in the state of South Carolina (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children and youth required.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-stress situations with a calm and effective approach.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
  • Proficiency in using virtual communication platforms and technology for remote counseling.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to provide in-home services as needed.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
  • Experience with trauma-informed care and therapeutic techniques specific to children and youth in foster care.

This is a full time position serving the state of South Carolina.
