Role Overview:
The 2nd Shift Foreman is responsible for the management and coordination of all production activities, operations and staff for their departments. The Foreman will ensure conformance to established procedures, implement practices that maximize production efforts, improve overall effectiveness of assigned operations, create a safe working environment for all staff members, and ensure project timelines and deliverables are met.
- 2nd shift schedule is Monday-Friday, 3:30pm-12:00am
Job Responsibilities:
- Reviews, analyzes, modifies, and implements efficient and effective department processes, policies, and procedures.
- Interfaces with QA Manager to ensure highest degree of final quality and develop new and better quality methods.
- Ensures approved manufacturing methodology is being followed.
- Develops and communicates goals and key initiatives to improve plant performance and success.
- Develops, monitors, and provides access to daily production requirements.
- Maintains knowledge of the skills of the labor force to manage in time of employee absence or unexpected peak demands.
- Interfaces with Operations Manager to control operating costs.
- Maintains knowledge of machine capacity and develops solutions for efficient utilization.
- Ensures all safety rules and regulations are followed; investigates accidents in a timely, accurate, and complete manner.
- Coordinates and manages all safety training.
- Prepares all required reports and correspondence.
- Develops, implements, and monitors department budget; manages expenses within approved budget constraints.
- Identifies, documents, and implements opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops production staff; manages schedules and workflow.
- Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
- Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance.
- Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
- Directly supervises employees assigned to their departments and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Interfaces with Human Resources to participate in the interviewing, hiring, and training of employees; planning and assigning work; appraising performance; disciplining employees, as well as addressing employee complaints.
Required Qualifications:
- Two to four years related experience or equivalent.
- Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating direct reports
