GTI Energy LLC is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Accounting Manager. This role is responsible for overseeing and leading all finance and cost accounting functions for a new product line being developed at a brand-new location. This role will support the company’s financial performance by developing and maintaining cost accounting methodologies, providing detailed cost analysis including financial reporting. The candidate will have a strong understanding of inventory management, manufacturing processes, cost drivers and system implementation with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
ERP and cost accounting implementation for product line
Define cost structures including direct costs, indirect costs and allocations
Select the appropriate costing methodology based on the company’s manufacturing processes and product lines
Provide leadership and demonstrate commitment in assisting in the implementation of cost accounting processes into the ERP and accounting systems, ensuring accounting modules are configured and operational
Establish and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for product cost estimation, budgeting, overhead allocation and inventory valuation
Financial Close and Reporting
Manage the month-end close process including journal entries and reconciliation, present factual and timely reports and interpret results to management
Perform analysis of inventory, and cost of goods sold / variances including inventory valuation
Establish and ensure compliance with internal controls, US GAAP and other state and federal regulatory requirements
Establish, direct and maintain sound financial accounting practices and procedures, and systems that monitor and ensure accuracy of inventories and assets of the company
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in financial accounting processes, systems and data accuracy
Present cost and operational information at management meetings to provide insights that support decision making
Oversee the daily operations of the Finance and Accounting function, including AP, AR and inventory management
Hire, coach, train and develop accounting team members to facilitate the finance function
Collaborate with site Plant Manager and Director of Operations and provide teams with relevant and valuable business financial insights
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline
Minimum 5-8 years of professional experience in manufacturing accounting in a leadership role
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting and internal controls
Experience with QuickBooks and NetSuite, including systems migration
Proven attention to detail, with demonstrated ability to identify errors and inconsistencies in financial records
Excellent analytical, organization and problem-solving skills
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast paced, quickly growing manufacturing organization
Self-starter comfortable working in an environment with evolving roles and responsibilities
Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
Ability to work with management and staff members in multiple offices, reporting directly to the company Controller
