GOC has experienced significant growth during our nearly 50 years of service, and we are currently seeking an Executive Director who can support and advance our growth in the next phase of development. This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a behavioral health expert to lead the organization, collaborate with Directors, oversee all aspects of service delivery, and innovate programs to meet the evolving behavioral health needs of the community.
Job Description
The Executive Director will be responsible for leading the organization in fulfilling the mission and vision described above. They will demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing behavioral health services in the community, while leading our team of clinicians and support staff towards continued growth and development in patient and client care. A strong responsibility toward issues of social justice, and a commitment to diversity and equity in service provision is essential.
General Duties (in collaboration with Directors):
- Report to the Board of Directors on the Center's day-to-day operations and collaborate to develop and implement strategic changes aligning with our mission and vision.
- Develop short- and long-term strategic plans.
- Lead and direct effective teams through transformational change, fostering a culture of innovation.
- Work with the management team to create an environment that attracts, retains, and motivates staff.
- Build and retain an effective team of salaried and contracted management, clinical, medical, and support staff.
- Foster continuous improvements in quality patient care by designing data collection and evaluation tools to monitor service delivery.
- Design and implement training programs for clinical and support staff, including continuing education for professionals.
- Continuously monitor and adapt policies and procedures, ensuring legal and ethical compliance for business operations and clinical work (including HIPAA).
- Maintain community relations and establish strategic partnerships with schools, businesses, and other organizations with interests or needs in behavioral health.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of community behavioral health needs and develop programs to address those needs.
- Pursue donors and grants to develop and implement these programs.
- Implement HR policies for employee acquisition, retention, performance, and relations.
- Develop and implement protocols and procedures, consulting with the Director of Office Operations on support staff issues.
- Maintain contracts with insurance companies and other third-party payers in collaboration with the Director of Office Operations.
- Oversee financial operations of the Center, including budgets, salaries, and reports, in collaboration with the Director of Business Operations.
- Develop operating budgets for programs and plan for short- and long-term program needs.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies Required:
The ideal candidate for this position will be a highly motivated and dynamic individual with outstanding interpersonal skills and a passionate commitment to promoting behavioral health and wellness within the organization and for those we serve. They will possess the ability to cultivate a healthy work culture, plan strategically, coordinate effectively, and motivate their team of competent and passionate professionals and support staff to pursue the GOC mission.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Doctorate in Psychology or a related field, and/or an MBA, or an advanced degree in Non-Profit Leadership, AND leadership experience in a behavioral health setting.
- Five to ten years of leadership experience in the behavioral health field.
- Competence with behavioral health crisis management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in developing budgets.
- Grant writing experience.
- Knowledge of HR best practices and the ability to implement HR policies and procedures, including experience with conflict resolution and performance management skills.
- Strong public relations skills.

Starting Salary: $110,000 or commensurate with experience, opportunities for annual bonuses.
