Role Overview:
As Store Manager at LaVino, you will oversee a kosher wine and liquor store that serves a broad range of clientele, including members of the local Jewish community and synagogues, and ensure everyone who enters the store finds options that match their preferences, religious requirements, and occasions. You will be responsible for all aspects of day to day store operations, including sales, customer relations, inventory management, staffing and training, and more. This position is perfect for someone who is passionate about wines and liquors as well as providing a respectful and supportive environment for members of different faith communities to freely discuss their religious needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Relations: Support management in developing promotional strategies to attract new customers, building strong relationships with regular customers, and addressing customer inquiries and complaints as needed.
- Inventory & Operations: Monitor and manage stocking, inventory levels, and deliveries as well as track and make recommendations to management regarding seasonal product adjustments and changing market interests.
- Staff Management: Train staff on product, customer service, and sales techniques; oversee employee scheduling; and monitor employee performance and provide feedback to management as needed.
- Store Maintenance: Oversee daily store operations and coordinate maintenance, security, and other operational tasks promptly.
- Reporting & Financials: Track pricing and profitability data and prepare reports for management.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date on local and state regulations regarding the sale of alcohol.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of work or equivalent experience related to the sale of alcohol
- 3-5 years of supervisory retail sales work or equivalent experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas and offerings effectively to potential clients
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients, understand their needs, and provide exceptional service
- A true passion for wine and liquor, with the ability to consistently make recommendations that delight clients
- Knowledge of the wine and liquor industry, particularly in Great Neck, to offer informed suggestions and stay ahead of trends, aligning our offerings with market demands
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a variety of tasks and changing business needs from day to day
Schedule:
The hours for this position are variable based on the season. As Store Manager, you are responsible for opening and closing the store. Store hours are:
- Monday - Thursday: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Friday: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (winter) and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. (summer)
- Saturday: Closed
- Sunday: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
