Job Description

We are searching for an ambitious go-getter who welcomes the challenge of meeting the needs of a hyper-growth startup. As an AI Knowledge Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing the retrieval and grounding systems that empower our AI agents with real-world knowledge. Your work will directly influence the accuracy and relevance of our platform's insights, enhancing client outcomes and strategic decisions.

You will collaborate with Data Scientists, Backend Engineers, and business stakeholders to design and implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, integrating vast amounts of structured and unstructured data to support intelligent agent behaviors.

Responsibilities:

Collaboration

• Work closely with Data Scientists to translate business and AI requirements into robust knowledge retrieval workflows.
• Ensure timely delivery of accurate, relevant information to support agent decision-making and client features.

Technical Development

• Develop and manage scalable RAG architectures using frameworks like LangChain and Haystack.
• Design and implement high-performance search and indexing systems for document retrieval.
• Integrate various data sources, including Snowflake, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch, into cohesive knowledge systems.

Monitoring & Reliability

• Create and manage real-time monitoring systems for retrieval performance and data integrity.
• Proactively identify and resolve issues to maintain high levels of system reliability and accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in AI Engineering or related fields
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
• Experience building retrieval systems with robust validation and testing
• Proficiency in frameworks for RAG architectures (e.g., LangChain, Haystack)
• Hands-on experience operationalizing AI models in production
• Deep understanding of search algorithms, data modeling, and knowledge representation
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating across teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on enterprise products serving Fortune 500 clients across Financial Services, Consumer Products, and Retail
• Prior startup experience
• Strong knowledge in ML/AI, NLP, and Data Science workflows
• Interest in current events, market dynamics, and emerging technologies
