About the Role

Growth Signals is looking for a driven, dynamic, curious and highly technical person to lead our software engineering efforts. Reporting directly to the CTO, this person will oversee all aspects of our software development, information security and DevOps initiatives. We’re looking for someone with a demonstrated history of high agency and a strong desire to build. This role will have a deep impact on GrowthSignals’ technical infrastructure and overall product.

Responsibilities

Serve as a 'player-coach' by leading and directly contributing to software development.
Lead a globally distributed engineering team, ensuring high productivity and collaboration across time zones.
Collaborate with the leadership team to understand customer needs and translate them into innovative software solutions.
Establish and enforce software best practices, including testing, documentation, scalability and code review.
Monitor application performance and ensure uptime.
Collaborate with auditors for SOC2, ISO and other information security and compliance audits, ensuring that our systems and processes meet the highest standards.

Required qualifications

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field.

At least 10 years of experience as a software developer and manager.

Exceptionally strong communication skills (written, verbal and remote).

Proficiency with frontend (e.g. React, Angular) and backend (e.g. FastAPI, Flask) frameworks.

Experience with NoSQL (e.g. MongoDB) and relational (e.g. Postgres) databases.

Proven expertise with one or more cloud vendors (Azure, AWS, Google) including hands-on experience architecting and managing deployments.

Expertise in modern DevOps practices : (e.g. Containerization CI / CD and Infrastructure as Code).

Ideal qualifications

Experience building applications using large language models (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini).

Experience designing systems that implement retrieval augmented generation and associated software landscape (e.g. Pinecone, Weaviate, Cohere).

Experience with serverless and highly scaling microservice architectures (e.g. AWS Lambda, Modal, Ray.io).

Demonstrated ability to inspire, mentor and grow a team of engineers.

Collaborative experience with Data Scientists and Engineers.

Experience collaborating with enterprise IT teams as a startup partner to integrate with existing infrastructure while meeting security and compliance requirements.
